Source Protection Planning Submission to the QCA
Alluvium supported Seqwater in strengthening its case for sustainable funding of its Source Protection Planning program by identifying submission gaps, benchmarking best practices, and providing evidence-based recommendations aligned with regulatory expectations.

In managing bulk water supplies across much of south-east Queensland, Seqwater undertakes a range of source water protection actions to mitigate risks to drinking water quality from source catchments as part of a multi-barrier treatment train. However, in seeking to progress these water quality initiatives, Sequater was required to demonstrate the prudency and efficiency of forecast spending in its future bulk water pricing submission to the Queensland Competition Authority.
NCC was engaged by Seqwater to support preparation of its regulatory pricing submission, focusing on demonstrating the prudency and efficiency of its source water investment program. This involved leveraging NCC’s regulatory expertise and direct engagement with Seqwater’s source protection team to develop evidence-based material that would support its future pricing submission.
