Development of Laos National Water Resources Management Strategy
From August 2018 – December 2019, the Australian Water Partnership supported Lao PDR’s Department of Water Resources (DWR) in drafting a National Water and Water Resources Management Strategy (NWMS).
Key outcomes included strengthening the evidence base, enhancing inter-sectoral engagement, and fostering multi-disciplinary review. The strategy was presented to the Lao National Mekong Committee in December 2022, with the final version prepared for submission to the Prime Minister.
