Integrated Climate Resilient Flood Management Strategies and National Urban Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA) Guidelines for flood risk reduction
Cities in Lao PDR face high flood vulnerability, exacerbated by infrastructure planning that overlooks future urban growth, climate projections, and land use changes. To address these challenges, the Green Climate Fund (GCF) program, "Building Resilience of Urban Populations with Ecosystem-based Solutions in Lao PDR," promotes an integrated, climate-resilient approach to urban flood management, incorporating ecosystem-based adaptation (EbA) interventions.
Under this program, Alluvium was contracted to develop Integrated Climate-resilient Flood Management Strategies (ICFMS) for Vientiane, Paksan, Savannakhet and Pakse and National Urban Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA) Guidelines for Flood Risk Reduction.
