Urban Waterbody Rejuvenation Guidelines

The South Asia Water Security Initiative (SAWASI) is a four-year $22 million investment to improve access to safe water and sanitation services for disadvantaged communities in South Asian cities. SAWASI aims to achieve this goal by strengthening South Asian city-level water governance; by undertaking investments that provide urban water services support to disadvantaged communities (particularly women and girls); and by making partner governments, other donors and water professionals aware of Australian expertise in urban water management and water sensitive cities (WSC).

The Australia-India Water Security Initiative (AIWASI) TA engaged Alluvium to design and deliver Urban Waterbody Rejuvenation Guidelines. The purpose of the Urban Waterbody Rejuvenation Guidelines is to provide guidance to State/UT and City level agencies on formulating, planning and implementing projects (including cost-effective solutions) for the rejuvenation for urban waterbodies. The Guidelines will also assist MoHUA in evaluating funding applications for urban waterbody rejuvenation projects from State/UT and City level agencies.
