Climate Resilience through Integrated Catchment Management and Ecosystem Based Adaptation in Lao PDR
Cities in Lao PDR face severe flood and drought risks, with climate change expected to worsen impacts, especially for vulnerable communities.

Cities in Lao PDR are confronted with high vulnerability to flooding and drought, making them among the most exposed areas to hydro-climatic extremes in Southeast Asia.T
To enhance climate resilience, Alluvium leads an Australian-Laos team implementing innovative solutions, including Integrated Catchment Management (ICM) and Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA), capacity-building, ecosystem service valuation, improved hydrologic monitoring, and inclusive decision-making. The team conducts scientific assessments, technical inputs, consultations, and training to deliver two major outputs, strengthening climate-resilient water management and disaster response in Lao PDR.
