Restoration of Cooum & Adyar Rivers and Buckingham Canal

DFR for the restoration of Adyar, Cooum Rivers (Phase I), and Buckingham Canal (Phase II) by ensuring pollution abatement, maintaining ecological flows, enhancing flood resilience, and enabling riverfront development.
Alluvium supported Chennai Rivers Restoration Trust (CRRT) in the preparation of Detailed Feasibility Reports for Adyar and Cooum Rivers as Phase I and Detailed Feasibility Report for Buckingham Canal as Phase II.
Alluvium was responsible (i) To ensure effective abatement of pollution and protection of rivers by adopting a sustainable approach for achieving water quality as per national standards (ii) To maintain minimum E-flows in the rivers with the aim of ensuring water quality and sustainable development (iii) To review the available proposals, identify gaps and suggest improvements to ensure the flood-carrying capacity of the rivers (iv) To develop River Front Development within urbanized areas, wherever possible.
