Knowledge Products and Capacity Building for Green Design Practices in Lao PDR
Lao PDR has committed to a 60% emission reduction by 2030, with the transport sector—responsible for 36.9% of CO₂ emissions—a key target for decarbonisation. To support this, the Australian Government’s Partnerships for Infrastructure (P4I) and the Ministry of Public Works and Transport initiated a training program to promote green road design.

In this context, Alluvium was contracted to lead the development and delivery of a 10-module training program on green road design. This work builds on documents like the National Green Growth Strategy 2030 to increase the awareness of green infrastructure and how it can be implemented across a range of activities within the transport sector.n bFocus areas of the training included: green/blue infrastructure, climate resilient infrastructure, green roads infrastructure, landscape and catchment, building and operationalisation.
